Hacked By Imam with love
Elmo & Ford
Elmo and Ford are just like “The Odd Couple!” Ford is light, Elmo is dark. Ford is outgoing and social, Elmo is grumpy and reserved. They have been bachelor roommates for a while now, and get along great despite their differences.
Ford just had his second birthday and is a calm, easy-going guy. He’ll sit in your hand or lap and hang out. He’d be a great homework buddy or movie-watching pal.
Elmo is 9 months old and, while gorgeous, is not very social. He’ll unball if you hold him, but sometimes nips at fingers. He would be happier not to be handled much by humans but likes hanging out with his buddy, Ford.
While most hedgehogs can live happily either alone or with a roommate or two, Elmo’s life would be much more fulfilling if he could stay with his pal. Ford will be able to be held and have adventures with their new family, and Elmo would benefit from Ford’s company when the family is busy. Without Ford to keep him company, Elmo may become even more withdrawn, especially since he’s not interested in being handled much by humans. We hope that by keeping them together, they will both be able to have long, happy lives in their new home.

Mulan
Mulan is an Algerian dark chocolate with a rich quillcoat. She’s also got that super-short, super-dark face that we love. Mulan has decided that motherhood isn’t for her, so she’s looking for a cushy home that will pamper her. Mulan is about 2 years old.
Paulie
Paulie is an extremely laid-back Algerian light chocolate with an indomitable spirit. An accident has unfortunately left her blind, but that doesn’t stop her from running on her wheel, re-arranging her toys, and being extremely sweet when she’s handled. We love kissing her velvety ears!
Shura
Shura is a lovely Algerian dark gray with a tiny pinto spot and a few scattered white snowflake quills. She’s got a wonderfully dark mask and adorable badger stripes. Shura likes to stay in shape by practicing her sweet ninja moves with any willing opponent, but so far she has yet to meet a worthy challenge.
Policies and Guarantee:
Waiting List deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE. We require a deposit to ensure that waiting-list participants are over the age of 18 and are committed to a Hazel Mountain hedgehog. Adding yourself to the waiting list does not guarantee the timeframe in which a baby will be offered to you, only that your “place in line” is reserved. For more information, see the Waiting List page.
Hazel Mountain guarantees your hedgehog against Wobbly Hedgehog Syndrome (WHS) for LIFE. The ONLY way to diagnose WHS is via microscopic evaluation of brain tissue–it CANNOT be definitively diagnosed in a living animal! Since any unwell hedgehog will typically “wobble,” even for something as simple as being too cold, a vet familiar with hedgehogs should explore other causes and treatments for your ill hedgehog. If your vet truly suspects your hedgehog has WHS, you MUST have the specialized test performed after the animal passes. Hazel Mountain will reimburse you for the testing fees and, if the test is positive, will either refund or replace the hedgehog (your choice). Hazel Mountain cannot give refunds/replacements for WHS if the brain tissue analysis is not performed! You or your vet are encouraged to contact Hazel Mountain with questions about WHS testing, if needed.
While every effort is made to breed healthy, happy, long-lived hedgehogs, Hazel Mountain cannot make any guarantees or issue any refunds for any non-genetic condition, including (but not limited to) health, lifespan, temperament, adult color, or suitability for breeding.
Hazel Mountain sells all hedgehogs as PET-QUALITY, not suitable for breeding, unless breeding is discussed prior to purchase. This is merely to enable us to offer the best bloodlines possible to breeders and encourage only the best genes be passed on, thereby giving the next generation the best chance at health, longevity, and superb temperament. Since WHS is a genetic, incurable, devastating disease, breeding your hedgehog without carefully considering bloodlines and consulting with a knowledgeable breeder is strongly discouraged.
If for any reason you can no longer care for your hedgehog, Hazel Mountain would prefer the hedgehog be returned to us for re-homing. No refunds will be given outside of the WHS guarantee, but the hedgehog will be evaluated for health and temperament and found a suitable new home, if possible.
Per USDA regulations, Hazel Mountain must collect contact information for every new hedgehog owner. Hazel Mountain will not share this information with any third party except the USDA or as required by law. Hazel Mountain may use your e-mail address to contact you with information about your hedgehog if needed, or to offer participation in occasional (up to semi-annual) surveys regarding your hedgehog to help us evaluate the success of our breeding program, unless you opt-out at time of hedgehog pickup.
The USDA also requires that Hazel Mountain inform all prospective hedgehog owners that, like any other insectivore, hedgehogs can carry Salmonella. It can be part of their natural digestive bacteria, and trying to “cure” a hedgehog of Salmonella can be dangerous or even fatal to the hedgehog. Hedgehogs pose no more risk than other insectivores (such as many reptiles), and proper hygiene and handling practices drastically reduce the risk of human illness in those with healthy immune systems. More information about Salmonella and hedgehogs is available on the CDC website.

Vidya
Vidya is a very unique little girl! She is a pale tan, not reddish at all, and her nose has a blue-gray cast rather than the typical reddish brown for a color as light as hers. We have seen this color described as Algerian brown by some, and “blue amber” by others. Whatever her color, we think she’s gorgeous!
Anisette
Anisette is a lovely Algerian dark gray slight pinto with fierce badger stripes. She’s proving to be a great mom, and even raised her first litter in the quarantine room after travelling all the way from Illinois! She always has a friendly, positive attitude and rarely puts her quills up.
Sapele
Sapele is a beautiful Algerian dark gray high-white snowflake with a calm personality. We originally planned to use her for breeding, but concerns about her pedigree have led us to allow her to be a pampered pet instead. Sapele is just over a year old.

Dick Valentine
Dick Valentine comes to us all the way from Beach Bum Hedgehogs in Florida! He wishes he could grow an awesome beard, but since he can’t, he has to rely on his electric personality to impress the ladies.
Rescue: Snowflake Male
This shy guy is an Algerian snowflake with a nice mask. He’s about 2 years old. He’ll need a patient home to bring him out of his shell, er, quills. It’s possible he’ll warm up with time, but he may always be a bit of a curmudgeon. He comes with a plastic storage tub enclosure and a few assorted supplies.
