Available Hedgehogs

The hedgies listed below can’t wait to meet their new families! If you see your new best friend on this page, you can use PayPal to secure them for your very own. You can choose to submit the full amount (typically $180 but occasionally less depending on age and/or temperament), or a non-refundable $60 deposit. Any hedgehog chosen in this way will be unavailable for anyone else once the transaction is completed. If a deposit is placed, the remaining balance will be due when you pick up your hedgehog. If you would rather use cash or a credit card, e-mail us so we can make arrangements for you to come by.

Each baby hedgehog goes home with a care information sheet, a sample of the food they are currently on, and a 5-generation pedigree if requested (when available). All our babies are guaranteed against Wobbly Hedgehog Syndrome. If you live locally, we can also provide the names of several area veterinarians that specialize in hedgehogs, in the rare event your hedgie requires medical care.

I do my best to describe colors and markings, however, final color and markings can’t be determined 100% until the last quilling, between 4-8 months of age. I can make color predictions, but not guarantees.

Brock

FHF Brock (FHF Sambuca x BBH Swagger)

Brock has the most extensive facial pigmentation we’ve ever seen! He’s fathered several litters for us, and he is looking for a place to relax and be waited on by his new human servants. He’s 9 months old.

Parade

FHF Parade (FHF March x FHF Mach Force)

Parade is an energetic Algerian chocolate pinto. She decided she’d rather not be a mom, so we’re letting her become a spoiled pet. She is about 8 months old.

Maisie

HMT Maisie (FHF Oighrig x BBH Mickey)

Maisie is a lovely Algerian dark gray pinto. She is a very active girl who loves to run in her wheel. She almost never puts her quills up, but she also rarely stops moving! She’s definitely not a couch potato or a cuddler, but her antics will keep you entertained! She is about a year old.

Iggy

MCH Iggy (MCH Obsession x MMF Connor)

Iggy is a reverse gray pinto that has the best personality we’ve seen in a long time. He’s so easy-going and never puts his quills up. He’d be a great classroom pet or other hedgehog-ambassador. He is currently staying in Colorado Springs, so he would need to be picked up there rather than in Arvada. He’s about 10 months old.

Sparhawk

FHF Sparhawk (FHF Phantom x SHH Sasha)

Sparhawk is a stunning Algerian gray blaze-face pinto that we are absolutely in love with. He fancies himself a fierce warrior, and thinks his “crooked” nose distinguishes him from all the pretty-boys out there. He has been a great dad for us, but we have plenty of his daughters so it’s time for him to move on. He rarely puts his quills up, but is more of a runner/explorer than a couch-potato/snuggler. He also has an old injury to his right eye that is healed but will never be quite normal. He is less than a year old.

Sunny

HMT Sun Bear (HMT Kuma x SHH Strider)

Sunny’s unique color (somewhere in the Algerian brown/blue amber range) coupled with her bright, unflappable personality are why we kept her. She has continued to light up our life ever since! However, she’s just not interested in motherhood at all, so she’s ready to be a spoiled pet. She is about 8 months old.

Spirit

HMT Spirit Bear (HMT Kuma x SHH Strider)

Spirit is everything we look for in a pinto: Short face with a nice dark Algerian mask, flashy high-contrast pinto pattern, and calm-but-social personality. She’s a perfect 10! Unfortunately for us, she has informed us that babies aren’t her thing and she’d rather be a pampered pet. She is about 8 months old.

Bhuna

SHH Bhuna (RHS Lilly x BBH Huey)

Bhuna is an Algerian chocolate chip with about 50% white quills. She is a little more reserved than we like to see with our breeding moms, so we’re letting her go to a pet home. She’ll need a calm, patient owner, but can still be a great pet! She is about 8 months old.

Kami

HMT Kamini (HMT Murraya x BBH Mickey)

Kami is a gray reverse pinto with perfectly-applied eyeliner. We love her striped ear! Kami did a great job with her first litter, but it was pretty hard on her, so we’ve decided not to put her through that again. She is about 8 months old.

Illi

HMT Illuyanka (BBH Tiamat x SHH Strider)

Illi is a nearly solid Algerian chocolate with a split mask. She’s a bit shy but warms up quickly. She is quite petite, and her only litter took a toll on her. She did a great job raising her babies, but she’d be much happier if she never had to do that again! She is about 8 months old.

Love is in the air! These are the current pairings at Hazel Mountain.

These litters are expected the week of 5-26-13, but can be up to 5 weeks late. Babies cannot be handled until they are 2-3 weeks old to avoid stressing Mom–this is the hardest part for us! Occasionally, an exceptional mom will let us take a peek earlier, but colors and patterns develop over time, so please be patient while we wait to see what we’ve got!

We were lucky enough to let some of our ladies “socialize” with the gentlemen of First Harmony Farms in Illinois. Therefore, clicking on the names of the potential daddies will redirect you to their website. When the ladies travel to breed, they do have a lower chance for a successful pregnancy, but we have our fingers crossed that at least a few of these litters will be successful:

Layla x Maui: Crossing our fingers for dark babies.

Aurora x Bishop: This litter could have a variety of colors if successful.

Tahoma x Ford: With luck, we’ll get some lighter babies from this cross.

Diva x Guy: Hoping for high-percentage snowflakes with nice dark faces.

Cookie x Malibu: Good chance for high white/platinum/white chocolate babies.

Sophie x Dumbo: Should be a nice pinto litter.

Effie x Mayhem: Could be a very flashy pinto litter.

Kodi x Noble: Expecting an excellent pinto litter.

Litters will be marked in bold once they are born, and moved to the “available” section when they are old enough to identify color/gender (usually 2-3 weeks old). If you would like to add your name to the waiting list so that you will get to choose a baby before they’re offered to the general public, you may do so here.
